PERMS Integrator

About a month or so ago, a new release of PERMS introduced a problem with the batches that come from PERMS Integrator. When batches from PERMS Integrator are sent to PERMS, the images end up with an extra page showing in PERMS that, when viewed, give you an error message about the page not being available. The PERMS developers are working on a fix for this problem and it should be available in the 1.9.8 release of PERMS.

The current work around for this problem is to turn off the "Split TIFFs" option on your IQC/SnF server. Not sure what other things that option might affect, but a couple of states have confirmed that once this option is turned off, the TIF images go into PERMS correctly. Version 4.8 is now available, which includes some fixes for some issues we've had with MILPO Orders, plus some other minor bug fixes and enhancements.

Awards Tracking System

A new version of the Awards Tracking System is now available. This version changes how we track and manage the service awards. Each service award is now created as a "Case" whenever a soldier is due the award. Each "Case" allows you to attach notes, documents, tasks, approvals, etc. to the case. A case can be customized by award type to provide different workflows within your state. You can see a demo of the new case based service award tracking feature here:

We are currently working on the DA638 functionality so that you can better manage and customize the workflow of the DA638 process as well. This will include a "Board" functionality for the 638 where you can track and manage an awards board, including who was on the board, when it was conducted, and their voting results.

Case Management

We continue to improve and enhance our case management system. The latest release includes more functionality to help you customize workflows within your state. We've added more capabilities such as new activity creation logic and have done some performance tuning on the application to be able to handle large numbers of cases more efficiently. Discharges

 A new release of the Discharges application is now available. This disables the creation of new DD214s as per NGB's request. It also includes a new version of the NGB22 form, plus the ability to pull the "Command Transferred" and "Character of Service" over from MILPO Orders.
